Onemda VicHealth Koori Health Unit

 

Description

Underpinned by the principles of Indigenous community development Onemda VicHealth Koori Health Unit is committed to research and teaching and will lead to long-term improvements in Aboriginal health.

Onemda values partnerships that encourage and support the Koori Community to participate in activities that ensures the work undertaken is respectful and relevant.

Onemda has appreciated the support of Community Elders and have three Elders as patrons . Onemda is also establishing national and international relationships.

Onemda has been founded on principles of Aboriginal leadership and Koori staff make a significant contribution to the health research, policy and service delivery undertaken. However our staff come from a diversity of cultures, as well as having a variety of professional backgrounds. Between us we have training and experience in health services, community development, policy and research.

Onemda's academic program is based on Indigenous values and principles ut also represents the contribution and cultural background of all those that work at and with Onemda.
