The Australian Transport Council (ATC) was established to provide a forum for Australian commonwealth, state, territory and New Zealand ministers responsible for transport, roads and marine and ports issues to consult and provide advice to governments on the co-ordination and integration of all surface transport and road policy issues at a national level.
The ATC generally meets twice a year, and reports to the Council of Australian Governments (COAG). The ATC in turn is advised by the National Road Safety Council (NRSC), the Standing Committee on Transport (SCOT), and the National Transport Commission.
