The Department of Justice and Community Safety (JACS) works to provide and improve justice services and outcomes for the ACT community, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The JACS, on behalf of the ACT Government, has developed a whole-of-government approach for the provision of effective services.

ACT Corrective Services is a branch of the Department of Justice and Community Safety. Corrective Services aims to protect the community by providing a safe, secure and humane correctional system which encourages offenders to rehabilitate.
