Healthabitat is an Australian organisation that aims to improve population health by improving living environments. Healthabitat's philosophy is that health gains can't be achieved through medical services alone, and that healthy living environments are essential to human wellbeing.
Healthhabitat's main project in Australia is Housing for health.Housing for health aims to improve the health of Indigenous people, particularly children 0-5 years of age, by ensuring access to safe and well-functioning housing. The project is based on nine Healthy Living Practices (HLPs):
Healthabitat strives to ensure that local Indigenous people are actively involved in all aspects of its work, and are part of making their own communities safe and healthy.

Housing for health: the guide is an online publication that aims provide policy makers with a resource that will assist in improving housing and health in regional and remote Australia.
Housing for health: the guide is supported by data, collected from over 7,500 houses in Aboriginal communities across Australia, and is suited for use by architects, designers, builders, project managers, environmental health officers, health professionals and communities to ensure new or old housing improves health.
