This organisation aims to lessen the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people detained in Police Watch Houses for public drunkenness in Rockhampton, Queensland. Juwarki Kapu-Lug Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Corporation offers assistance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people detained in police watch houses on other charges through the implementation of a diversionary centre and a cell watch program. They also assist inmates of correctional facilities and their families through the Prison aid program.
