Health Workforce Australia - National fellowship initiative

Overview

Health Workforce Australia (HWA) has established the 2013 National fellowship initiative to provide funding to recognise and support health sector clinical education and training and to recognise and support workforce innovation and reform.

The 2013 National fellowship initiative has two aims. They are:

  • aim 1 clinical supervision support - The fellowship initiative will financially support research projects that will provide lasting benefits to clinical education and training in the Australian health sector by:
    • contributing to the continued development of a competent clinical supervision workforce
    • adding value to the existing knowledge base through research and evaluation on clinical supervision
  • aim 2 workforce innovation and reform support - The fellowship initiative will financially support research projects that will provide lasting benefits to workforce innovation and reform in, or affecting, primary health care, including mental health by:
    • assisting workforce innovation and reform in the workplace
    • adding value to the existing knowledge base through research and evaluation on workforce innovation and reform.

These two aims are separate and distinct. While it is envisaged that research projects will focus on one aim, projects that encompass both aims will also be considered.

People eligible to apply for fellowship funding for a Clinical supervision support project are individuals associated with clinical supervision in any capacity. People eligible to apply for a Workforce innovation and reform project are those involved in workforce innovation and reform in, or affecting, primary health care, including mental health.

A total of 20 fellowships - valued at up to $20,000 each are available.
