Community development fund (remote jobs and communities program)

The community development fund (CDF) will provide funding of $237.5 million over five years to support social and economic development and participation across the 59 remote regions that are part of the remote jobs and communities program (RJCP). The CDF will fund services and/or activities that provide benefit to Indigenous communities and support the creation of jobs and employment-related participation opportunities for Indigenous and non-Indigenous job seekers participating in the RJCP.

To encourage innovation and new investment in remote communities, a wide range of organisations are eligible to apply for CDF funding including remote Indigenous community organisations, local councils, non-government organisations, local employers as well as RJCP providers. Applications for CDF funding will be assessed through a national competitive grant process, with final decisions made by the Minister for Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs.
