National Roads and Motorists' Association (NRMA) safer driving school road safety grants
Overview
National Roads and Motorists' Association (NRMA) safer driving school road safety grants provide community organisations a share of $100,000 to implement road safety initiatives. These grants are available to all government and not for profit organisations in New South Wales (NSW) and the Australian Capital Territory (ACT).
There are five grant categories:
- general community grants of up to $5,000
- encourage the community to create education programs for parents, children or drivers that focus on increasing the safety of children near driveways, car parks and school kiss and drop zones
- addressing safety issues for road users of any age; drivers, passengers, pedestrians or cyclists
- high schools - 4 grants of $2,500
- for projects related to any area of the curriculum, whole school or particular cohort
- for submissions that actively involve students and communicate a strong road safety message
- open to teachers and/ or parent representative groups who have received authorisation from the school principal
- primary schools - 4 grants of $2,500
- for projects related to any area of the curriculum, whole school or particular cohort
- for submissions that actively involve students and communicate a strong road safety message
- open to teachers and/ or parent representative groups who have received authorisation from the school principal
- youth based organisations - 4 grants of $2,500
- for university/ college groups, sporting clubs, Parents and Citizens' Youth Clubs (PCYC), scouts, guides or schools
- for innovative road safety programs or initiatives for young people
- older road users - four grants of $2,500
- for the development and implementation of programs and initiatives focused on increasing the safety of older road users as drivers, passengers or pedestrians.
