Overview

This is an Australian Government initiative supporting registered nurses who work within the aged care sector to undertake nurse practitioner studies at an Australian tertiary institute.

Scholarships are available for Australian citizens or permanent residents who are:

• registered nurses working in aged care facilities who have a current practicing certificate
• who are enrolled or intend to enrol in a course leading to registration as a nurse practitioner in aged care
• able to demonstrate their commitment to becoming a nurse practitioner in aged care
  

The scheme provides financial assistance in the form of a scholarship worth up to a total of $15,000 per year for two years full time study or $7,500 per year for up to four years part time study.
