Open Colleges specialises in providing online nationally recognised courses. Open Colleges has partnered with Integrated Care & Management Training to promote and provide access to the Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (specialising in Podiatry). This is a nationally recognised specialist allied health qualification (HLT42512), which is delivered through online education supported by work placement experience in a health centre or other appropriate workplace to gain real-world experience in allied health.
Podiatry assistants typically work alongside a podiatrist or other health professional to undertake a range of client care tasks relating to feet, legs and toes - such as foot hygiene procedures and orthotic and footwear modifications - as well as administration related to clinical consultation. The podiatry field can make a big difference to those with a disability or to the elderly; dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of medical and surgical conditions of the feet and lower limbs.
