Aboriginal child health upskilling course

 

Overview

Target audience: Aboriginal Health Workers, remote area nurses, midwives (community), generalist registered nurses (who don't have an existing child health nurse qualification), practice nurses and GPs who are involved in delivering Aboriginal child health services in Western Australia (WA).

Course summary: This course focuses on enhancing foundation knowledge, skills and confidence of professionals to deliver an Aboriginal child health program which supports vulnerable Aboriginal families and children under 5 years of age. The course includes practical 'hands-on' demonstrations and interactive application of commonly used child health tools and Aboriginal-specific resources.
