Target audience: All personnel in the health and community sectors in Tasmania

Course summary: This course introduces participants to Tasmanian Aboriginal culture and history. Topics covered include:

• Tasmanian history from an Aboriginal perspective
• the implications of colonisation for the Tasmanian Aboriginal community
• the range of cultural values of Tasmanian Aboriginal people today
• important Aboriginal community events, cultural activities and issues
• the services offered to the community by the Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre.
