Target audience: Policy makers, individuals and organisations who are directly involved in delivering services to Aboriginal people and their communities, particularly in the Northern Territory (NT)

Course summary: Why Warriors currently offers six different cultural awareness courses as well as tailored training. These six courses are:

• Introduction to cultural awareness
• Cultural awareness for working with Indigenous people
• Cross-cultural communication
• Human dynamics in Indigenous communities
• Cultural awareness in policy and planning
• Empowerment and capacity building.

The courses differ in content and complexity. Topics in the introductory course include:

• traditional Indigenous economic systems
• Indigenous systems of Law and land tenure
• Indigenous political systems
• historical influences on Indigenous world view
• traditional social structures
• inter-cultural communication dynamics and skills.

Fee payable: Yes

Delivery mode: Either on site or online (via streaming video from Arnhem Land)
