Overview

Target audience: Those wishing to work in health management

Course summary: This course is a two year work based program enabling students to learn how to be a health manager, while they complete a Masters in health services management, part time. The program has three components:

• health industry work placements - organised by the College to ensure trainees have exposure to a range of health service delivery issues
• Masters of health science (health service management) with the University of Western Sydney
• Australian College of Health Service Management (ACHSM) professional development component - monthly study days which provide training in key management areas (e.g. project management, financial management, cultural awareness, presentation skills and emotional intelligence) and attendance at a rural study tour where trainees visit rural health services to gain insights into issues that impact on rural health care delivery.

The program has a number of identified positions for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander trainees, those without an undergraduate degree can apply by submitting a portfolio.
