The course is designed to enable candidates to extend their skills, knowledge and understanding of workplace policy and procedures, and to provide advanced interventions in the areas of counselling, referral, advocacy and education/health promotion services. Candidates are expected to be working in the alcohol and other drug (AOD) sector for a minimum of two years and/or have already completed the Certificate IV in AOD work or another health and community services certificate.
The course requires completion of 17 units - 15 compulsory units and 2 electives.
