Overview

Target audience: GPs, nurses, allied health practitioners, receptionists and administration staff

Course summary: This course provides health workers with the skills to delivery culturally safe care to Indigenous clients. The course is available for delivery by AHCWA affiliates across Australia and can be adapted for different contexts. Topics include:

• improving communication with Indigenous patients during health consultations
• establishing partnerships with service providers
• addressing the burden of chronic disease in Indigenous communities through preventive activities and health checks.
