This certificate level is directed at workers who provide primary health care services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Such services may be wide ranging and may also include specific health care programs, advice, and assistance with medication. The certificate is comprised of 10 compulsory units and three elective units. Some of the units covered in this course include: assessing client's physical wellbeing; monitoring health care; and providing nutritional guidance for specific health care. Students applying for this course must be of Aboriginal descent, aged 17 years or older, and have basic reading, writing, and maths skills.
