This diploma seeks to increase the capacity of Aboriginal Health Workers who work with clients with dual diagnoses, particularly those employed in alcohol and other drugs and mental health/social emotional wellbeing areas. Entry into this course requires proven competence in the compulsory units for Certificate IV Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (Practice). The course involves seven core units and eight elective units. Areas of focus include: mental health and alcohol and other drugs; managing complex cases; community development and advocacy; and management.
