This certificate is appropriate for people who work with clients with alcohol and/or other drug issues in the capacity of service provision, health promotion, or community interventions. This qualification focuses on gaining specific knowledge of a client with alcohol and/or other drug issues and the application of appropriate interventions in residential and community settings. This certificate is comprised of 14 units and areas of competency include: effective work practices and networking; identifying at risk behaviours and mental health considerations; substance use - foundations for good practice interventions; communication; and first aid.
