Overview

Target audience: Enrolment within this course focuses on recruiting students from the following:

Course summary: This certificate is the minimal qualification needed to work in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health. Workers with this qualification are afforded the title Aboriginal Health Worker and work in a health care setting providing services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Aboriginal Health Workers often receive ongoing supervision and guidance in their position and work as part of a team.

Workers seeking enrolment in or credit for this qualification must be able to demonstrate current competence in the compulsory competency units required for Certificate III in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health and in any competency units identified as individual pre-requisites for specific elective units.
