Overview

Target audience: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workers, community workers, liaison officers, elders, other community members

Course summary: This program, which is delivered in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities by a visiting Aboriginal Health Educator, aims to increase community awareness about caring for people who are unwell and not going to get better. Topics include:

• what is palliative care?
• symptom management and medications
• grief and loss
• care planning
• family and teamwork.

Fee payable: Free (for eligible participants)
