Overview

This two day training course is organised by Mission Australia. It is aimed at community and health workers who work with Aboriginal clients.

Topics to be covered include:

• types and forms of gambling activity.
• signs and symptoms of problem gambling.
• risk and protective factors.
• impacts on health and relationships.
• the role of gambling counsellors.
• assessments and screening tools.
• where to access support services and
  
• types of therapeutic interventions and treatment programs.

Participants that complete the full two day course will receive a certificate of participation and resource book.
