Overview

The theme of the conference is Voices, conversations and transformations. Diverse approaches to recovery. This conference will target the experience of psychosis and 'hearing voices', and showcasing diverse, multidisciplinary and multicultural approaches to recovery. It aims to promote innovative, cross-disciplinary approaches to recovery from psychosis. It will attract professionals interested in new ideas and paradigm shifts, leaders and change agents.

Keynote speakers:

• Dr Lewis Mehl-Madrona MD - Narrative medicine: the use of history and story in the healing process,
• Ron Coleman - hearing voices: recovery, discovery, and transformation,
• Debra Lampshire - what does psychology have to offer mad people?

Special guest speakers:

• The Ngangkari Healers - Indigenous views of psychosis, healing and working together,
• Lindy Moffatt - mental illness or spiritual illness: what should we call it? An Indigenous carer perspective,
• Veronika Kulwikowski, Jussey Verco and David Denborough - power to our journeys: telling our stories in ways that make us stronger,
• Peter Hawes - dangerous voices and the emotional link.
