Overview

The conference is bringing together a broad range of experience and expertise from Australia, New Zealand and around the world, to create a stimulating and thought-provoking setting for all those who attend. The conference will see these aims applied in the papers and discussions within forums that focus on strengthening cross-disciplinary interaction and debate on a range of issues of child abuse and neglect that impact on the wellbeing of Western Australian children, young people, and families.

The conference will include Indigenous content:

• Len Collard - Len has conducted research for the Australian Research Council, the National Trust of Western Australia, the Western Australian Catholic Schools and youth issues. His youth research and cultural work has broadened the understanding of the many unique characteristics of Aboriginal people and improving the appreciation of Nyungar culture and the social responsibilities of the people Southwest of Australia.
• Juan Larranaga - Western Australia Program Manager for Save the Children
  
• Anthea Whan - Project Coordinator for the Communities for Children project with Save the Children in Kununurra, Western Australian.
