This year's Critical Race and Whiteness Studies Association (ACRWSA) conference will be convened collaboratively with the Indigenous Studies Research Network.
The conference will:
Health workers may be particularly interested to know that the conference organisers have proposed a topic stream called Interventions: Science / Health / Policy. For this stream, the organisers are interested in papers that examine the impact that 'discursive constructions of racial difference' have had on 'the ways that research is undertaken and policies formulated and implemented in Australia and other white settler colonial nations.'
Some scholarships are available to support the attendance of Indigenous scholars and/or postgraduate students. At a minimum, each scholarship recipient will receive free registration at the conference, with the possibility of a contribution towards travel and accommodation. Scholarships are primarily intended for those who will be presenting a paper at the conference, though others may apply. For scholarship deadlines, see Important Dates below.
