Overview

The Australian Health Promotion Association organised the 18th National Health promotion Conference. The central theme of this conference was: Make Health Promotion a Priority - Evidence, Advocacy and Action.
Sub-themes are:

• evidence and evaluation
• advocacy and leadership
• action, and innovation
• current & emerging priorities in health promotion

HealthInfoNet Cafe

The 18th National Health Promotion Conference aimed to:

• Showcase leaders in health promotion and innovative health promotion research and initiatives.
• Create an inclusive and welcoming environment where multidisciplinary practitioners, researchers and policy makers can engage in healthy debate.
• Ignite passion in the sector, by creating a lively and interactive program.

The Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet  aimed to contribute by highlighting Indigenous health issues within the context of health promotion. Jane Burns gave a presentation, Building a ‘one stop info shop' for Indigenous health workers on the Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet. Jane Burns, Karla Cerna, Tara Hogan and Christine Potter ran a HealthInfoNet cafe which was well attended and many delegates joined yarning places at the conference.
