Overview

The National Indigenous Drug and Alcohol Committee (NIDAC) is organising this event. The conference aims to assist and contribute to further develop the capacity of those working to address Indigenous alcohol and drug issues. This conference appeals to people working in the areas of:

• Harmful Indigenous drug and alcohol use and associated harm
• Law and justice
• Health and medicine
• Community development
• Indigenous research
• Indigenous and health policy

There is some support to help Indigenous people submit an abstract and contribute to the conference. For more information contact NIDAC.

HealthInfoNet Cafe

HealthInfoNet researcher Michelle Catto and Deputy Director Richard Midford ran a HealthInfoNet cafe at the inaugural NIDAC conference held in Adelaide on the 16-18 June 2010. The conference had a great atmosphere: around 500 delegates were abuzz networking and sharing information on the latest research, policy, and prevention and treatment initiatives. The NIDAC conference successfully realised its ambition to provide an opportunity to learn and to foster the exchange of information and experience.
