Rheumatic heart disease (RHD) Australia conference: practice and culture

Overview

This conference draws on the experience of key individuals in the field whom will share innovation from both clinical and research setting viewpoints. A core component of the conference highlights the impact of culture on practice and aims to identify what we could be doing better to build successful programs for the reduction of ARF and prevention of Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD). Crucial to this discussion is how healthcare providers can encompass community and Indigenous engagement in their planning and service provision.

The program has been designed to include stories from Indigenous health workers and from those working in remote area settings but also highlights important advances in research to complement practice.

The 2 day program includes panel discussions and practical sessions and will be complemented by an eventful social cocktail dinner allowing delegates to network and catch up with colleagues.
