Overview

The aims of this Medicare Local-only workshop are:

• to assist Medicare Locals in the implementation of Access to allied psychological services (ATAPS) to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in their catchment area
• to provide Medicare Locals with information on current policy developments, programs and initiatives occurring in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, mental health and primary care
• to provide a forum for discussion of issues and challenges associated with implementation of ATAPS services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
• to enhance the capacity of Medicare Locals to undertake service planning and service development in relation to developing culturally appropriate service models for ATAPS services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
