If you are an Indigenous medical student or junior doctor, are interested in a career in rural medicine and would like to attend RMA2013, complete the expressions of interest form online by Monday 30th September 2013.
This conference was organised by the Rural Doctors Association of Australia and Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine. The theme was Demonstrating the diversity. The conference aimed to present rural doctors with an opportunity to gain or upgrade skills and exchange knowledge on rural medical practice. The conference was relevant to general practitioners (GPs), specialists, educators, GP registrars, researchers, medical students, administrators, and policy makers involved in rural and remote health care.
The presentations provided delegates with a rich and diverse range of options, from clinical skills development and knowledge updates to the latest in research findings.
With over 70 exhibitors and 750 delegates in attendance, Christine Potter and Belinda D'Costa from the Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet were able to provide information about the new ClinicalInfoNet website, which provides GPs, nurses, and Aboriginal Health Workers with easy access to Indigenous chronic disease resources. The feedback about the ClinicalInfoNet was positive, with many delegates commenting on the usefulness of accessing resources from one place.
