Professor Diego De Leo, Director, Australian Institute for Suicide Research and Prevention invites you to this seminar series held at Griffith University and presented by Prof Jose' Bertolote.
This presentation will review data from the World Health Organization Mortality Data Bank highlighting the overall trends of suicide around the world. The data shows that these trends have been decreasing in the last 10 years after a period in which they increased globally. The downward trend is observed for both males and females of all ages, with the exception of young age groups. A possible relationship between these changes and national strategies and initiatives for suicide prevention will be explored.
