Quality of life and quality of care in dementia public seminar
Overview
Alzheimer's Australia NSW invites you to hear internationally renowned dementia expert, Prof Sube Banerjee (UK), who will be visiting Sydney as part of an exclusive, national tour.
Prof. Banerjee will talk about:
- quality of life in dementia - the experience of people with dementia and their carers is more than the sum of cognitive and behavioural measures. New treatments for dementia demand sound methodologies with which to measure quality of life in dementia in response to treatments and in the general population. Prof Banerjee will discuss a disease specific quality of life measure for dementia (DEMQOL), which has components for persons with dementia and their carers, and is based on the soundest of psychometric developments
- the impact on people with dementia and their carers - what do people with dementia and the people that care from them need, what do we provide and how do we resolve any conflict between the two? Prof Banerjee will discuss a number of recent European studies
- international Perspectives in the medication and management of depression and behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia.
