Overview

This conference will examine the expanding roles of dietitians and nutritionists in diverse work settings. These roles encompass teaching, research, and workforce capacity-building that are constantly responding to, and sometimes creating, new developments in the broadening of knowledge and skills required for practice. Engaging transdisciplinary scholarship, the conference will examine ways in which dietitians and nutritionists engage with the changing policy, practice and academic environments that are constant features of our professional lives.

The themes of the conference include, but are not limited to, the following:

• the social accountability of nutrition and dietetics practice, research and education
• artful approaches to teaching, research, and practice employing arts-informed methods such as performance, poetry, literature, documentary film, and art-making
• pushing the boundaries of dietetics with critical methodologies and epistemologies
• social media and networking in dietetics - friend or foe?
• dietetics and pracademics - working with community agents of change.
