This factsheet presents the evidence for the delivery of school-based health education for Indigenous students in Australian schools, including strategies that are effective in supporting positive health outcomes for Indigenous students. Evidence-based, school-based health education programs can be enhanced through the understanding of what works, who they work for, and in what situation. A thorough understanding of context and cultural awareness are vital for the effective implementation of these broad based policies in individual remote, rural and urban Indigenous schools.
