Stronger Futures in the Northern Territory (NT) was an Australian Government program that funded a number of services in the NT that assist in 'closing the gap.' The program supported the following areas: health support for primary health care and short-term placement of health professionals hearing dental services child abuse trauma counselling support alcohol and drug workers improvements to community stores education community safety and justice support for additional NT police in remote communities night patrols support for specialist police units dealing with illicit drugs restrictions on sexually explicit and very violent material tackling alcohol abuse Alcohol Management Plans new minimum standards consultation and engagement between government and community representatives child, youth, family and community wellbeing women's safe houses creches playgroups mobile child protection teams services to assist on building for the future housing and land reform municipal and essential services power water sewerage roads garbage collection dog control programs Alice Springs transformation remote engagement and coordination jobs package background legislation announcements.
