Bad sugars bad eyes is a short animated educational video designed for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with diabetes. It aims to highlight key patient information about diabetes and its effects on the eye, the importance of annual eye screening, and increase awareness in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

The video is freely available through Lions Outback Vision for all clinics and health practitioners seeking to use it in their regular practice. The video is available in English and Martu translation.

The video was awarded first prize at the 2012 Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologist Annual Scientific Congress Film Festival.
