Abstract

This publication reports on the variation in hospitalisation rates for asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) across Australia. It investigates the relationship between hospitalisation rates and socioeconomic status, remoteness, and the number of Australian Indigenous people living in different locations across Australia. A visual representation of hospitalisation rates for asthma and COPD is provided. The report suggests additional factors for the variation in hospitalisation rates and the opportunity for further study to investigate these factors.
