Abstract

These infographics are based on the key facts from the Review of diabetes among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people while the statistics are from the Overview of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health status 2016.

They are presented as:

  • an online scrollable information resource
  • a PDF version that provides an option for people to download a print-friendly version on two A4 pages that can pinned up side by side (as a poster) if desired.

The infographics provide information on:

  • the types of diabetes
  • risk factors for diabetes
  • health complications from diabetes.

The resources also provide information on how culturally appropriate, community initiated and supported health activities can lead to better diabetes care and better health.

The resource development was a collaboration between the Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet and an Edith Cowan University 'visualising research' student.
