Sunnies for Sight primary school pack

This health and social studies educational package contains lesson plans and activities - which includes art, singing, puzzles and role playing games - for use by teachers at primary schools.

The package covers these topic areas:

  • eye anatomy
  • vision and perception
  • vision impairment and blindness
  • treatments for eye conditions
  • maintaining good eye health
  • detecting vision problems.

The Sunnies for sight day resource is designed to be used as part of the Say eye campaign, an educational and fund raising initiative to communicate information about vision, eye care and the link between poverty and avoidable blindness. Teachers are able to download the packages from the Brien Holden Vision Institute website. The resource is not Indigenous-specific.
