This study sought to determine if a difference in radiotherapy treatment attendance rates exists between Indigenous and non-Indigenous patients. It also aimed to ascertain which patient, disease and treatment factors affect attendance of Indigenous patients for radiotherapy treatment.
The sociocultural and economic factors which are thought to have inﬂuenced cancer treatment pattern and outcomes included:
- tradition versus western treatments
- communications between specialist and patients.
