NSW Aboriginal Health Research Conference

This conference was an initiative of the Coalition for Research to Improve Aboriginal Health (CRIAH). The Coalition is a partnership of the Aboriginal Health and Medical Research Council (AHMRC) and the Sax Institute, and has the aim to promote and support research that will translate into improved health care for Aboriginal communities.

The objectives of the conference were to:

  • showcase Aboriginal health research in New South Wales
  • provide opportunities for communities to describe their health and research priorities; and
  • provide opportunities for sharing information and establishing collaborations among Aboriginal community members, researchers and policy makers

General Practice and Primary Health Care Research Conference: What’s [not] working? How do we know?

This conference is an annual forum for the presentation of research and evaluation funded through: the General Practice Evaluation Program; Primary Health Care Research, Evaluation and Development; Divisions of General Practice and other sources. Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS)

AIATSIS (view homepage) is an independent Commonwealth Government statutory authority devoted to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander studies and is a major national funding body for research in Australian Indigenous studies. The Research Grants Program supports research into a wide range of areas in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander studies, including health (social, cultural and environmental aspects) (view details).

The NHMRC (view homepage) promotes medical research and training and public health research and training throughout Australia in accordance with the National Health and Medical Research Council Act 1992. Funding is provided on a competitive basis through the schemes advertised on the NHMRC website.
