Overviews
In this section, relevant information has been collected, reviewed, and analysed to develop our Overview of Australian Indigenous health status . Information has been compiled also about the availability of other overviews of Indigenous health.
Our overview draws on statistics and other published and unpublished materials to provide succinct, up-to-date, detailed information about the health status of Indigenous people and other important aspects of Indigenous health. Sources include government reports, articles in journals and other periodicals, books and book chapters, reports from specific studies and projects, and dissertations and theses.
Our overview provides information about the Indigenous population, the context of Indigenous health, various measures of population health status, selected health conditions, and health risk, factors. It is updated regularly, as new information becomes available, and will expand to include information about other health conditions and the social determinants of Indigenous health.
Under Other overviews we provide information and links to general and state-based overviews of Indigenous health collected on other sites. A number of overviews have been compiled but this information still requires substantial development and will be expanded over time.
