Australian Indigenous HealthBulletin Vol 7 No 2
The April 2007 - June 2007 issue of the Australian Indigenous HealthBulletin is now 'in progress' and available online (view current issue). The purpose of the Australian Indigenous HealthBulletin is to provide access to information of relevance to Australian Indigenous health. Reflecting the wide range of our users - policy makers, service providers, researchers, students and the general community - the HealthBulletin attempts to keep people informed of current events of relevance, as well as information about recent research.
As with all areas of our site, we welcome your assistance and contributions in making the Australian Indigenous HealthBulletin as useful as possible. Please let us know (view HealthInfoNet contact details) about events and information relating to sections of the HealthBulletin. If you would like to submit an article for inclusion in 'Original articles', 'Reviews' or 'Brief reports', please see the notes for contributors (view notes for contributors).
Bibliography
Australian Indigenous HealthBibliography
The HealthBibliography is a comprehensive online database comprising bibliographic records of literature on Australian Indigenous health. It currently includes more than 10,000 references.
An advanced search function has been developed to improve the usefulness of the bibliography and it is now available online. This new function will help users focus their searches more specifically. For example, a user can now restrict their search by author, keyword (or subject), year(s) of publication, and publication type (such as ‘journal article’). » more information

Indigenous diabetes web resource
We have recently developed an Indigenous diabetes web resource - a ‘one-stop info-shop’ for people working, studying or interested in addressing diabetes among Indigenous peoples (view web resource).
This web resource aims at increasing the access of people involved in addressing the development and impact of diabetes among Indigenous peoples to accurate, up-to-date information and resources.
The HealthInfoNet is currently exploring options for adding the capacity for people involved in the area to actively share their information and experiences through development of a yarning place (an electronic network) that encourages electronic yarning and networking among people working across Australia to address the development and impact of diabetes among Indigenous peoples. (more information).
Indigenous misuse of kava, pharmaceuticals and other drugs web resource and yarning place
We have recently developed an Indigenous misuse of kava, pharmaceuticals and other drugs web resource - a ‘one-stop info-shop’ for people working, studying or interested in addressing the misuse of kava, pharmaceuticals and other drugs among Indigenous peoples (view web resource).
The web resource provides quality information and materials about how to prevent and/or minimise the harm associated with the use of kava, pharmaceuticals and other drugs among Indigenous peoples. We are still in the process of developing content for this resource, but have decided to make available the information we have already gathered.
The web resource will also support an Indigenous misuse of kava, pharmaceuticals and other drug use yarning place by providing electronic services that encourage information sharing and collaboration among the full range of people working in health and related sectors. The yarning place is currently under development and will be available online in the near future. Anyone working, studying, or otherwise interested in addressing issues surrounding kava, pharmaceuticals and other drug use among Indigenous Australians is encouraged to join and membership is free (more information).
