Reports and publications: two new books on Indigenous health

Oxford University Press has recently published two comprehensive books on Indigenous health. The texts have evolved from the primary health care and public health sectors respectively, and provide complementary perspectives on the health of Indigenous Australians.

Summary

Summary of Indigenous health: January 2004

This summary of Australian Indigenous health (view HealthInfoNet summary) is updated as new information becomes available (some sections have not been updated from previous versions, because no substantial new information has become available). It draws largely on published information, some of which has been re-analysed to provide clearer comparisons between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people. In addition to information about health status, this summary includes a brief paragraph about health expenditure on Indigenous health.
