Cooperative Research Centre for Asthma and Airways
This research centre is a joint venture between two medical
research institutes, three universities, six pharmaceutical
companies and the New South Wales Department of Health. The
ultimate aim of the centre is to eradicate asthma, so that
there is no personal burden and little fiscal burden on the
States or Commonwealth. Currently, the centre gathers basic
knowledge towards that goal and utilises, evaluates, and disseminates
existing information for reducing costs due to asthma. CRCAA
funds a designated Centre for Clinical Research Excellence
in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health.
