Cooperative Research Centre for Asthma (CRC)
Cooperative Research Centre for Asthma is a joint venture
between two medical research institutes, three universities,
six pharmaceutical companies and the New South Wales Department
of Health. The ultimate aim of the centre is to eradicate
asthma, so that there is no personal burden and little fiscal
burden on the States or Commonwealth. Currently, the centre
gathers basic knowledge towards that goal and utilises, evaluates,
and disseminates existing information for the benefit of reducing
the fiscal and personal costs of asthma.

Housed within the Western Australian Institute for Medical

Chronic Diseases Network
The Northern Territory Chronic Diseases Network was set up
in response to the challenge to do something about the impact
of chronic disease in the NT. It now has over 500 government
and non-government members across the NT and Australia. The
Network was formed to link stakeholders and promote communication,
collaboration, coordination and collective memory in the area
of common chronic diseases affecting the NT population, across
the continuum of care. It is also responsible for publishing
