Protective behaviours community way [resource package].
[S.I.]: Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services Council (KAMSC)
Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services Council (KAMSC), Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) and Health Promotion Unit (HPU) have launched a Protective behaviours community way package. The resource is a safety package developed for children to assist in the prevention of child abuse by helping them to deal with their problems and find the right sort of help to keep themselves safe. The package aims to make children strong and to feel safe in their home and community and is designed to be used as an educational program by families, teachers, health workers or community groups with children.

This manual contains practical information on establishing culturally appropriate and sustainable dog programs in Indigenous communities. It is intended for veterinarians, environmental health workers, local government and organisations and individuals interested in the health and wellbeing of animals, their owners and their communities.
This is the only such guide currently available. The manual has been written by Dr Samantha Phelan, a Northern Territory-based veterinarian with significant field experience in remote Indigenous communities.
The manual is web-based and free to AMRRIC (Animal Management in Rurual and Remote Communities) members until June 08. AMMRIC is seeking funds to provide a print version; please contact AMMRIC if you are able to assist.
