Remote Indigenous Australian Asthma Action Plan and Everyday Asthma Action Plan Two asthma action plans have been developed specifically for Indigenous peoples with asthma. The first, Remote Indigenous Australian Asthma Action Plan is specially for those who live in remote areas of Australia. The plan is based on a design by Professor Anne Chang and funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing. The 'Short Wind educational materials' distributed by the Asthma Foundation of the Northern Territory have been responsible for various imagery. The second, Everyday Asthma Action Plan, is specifically for remote living Indigenous Australians who do not have a high level of literacy in english. The plan has been developed by the Spencer Gulf Rural Health School, Pika Wiya Health Service and Asthma SA as part of an Indigenous Asthma Innovative Management (AIM) project, which is supported by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing. Human Rights and
Equal Opportunity Commission (2007) In 1997 the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission released the report Bringing them home: National Inquiry into the Separation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children from Their Families. Following this, the Commission received extensive requests from teachers for information about the report. The Bringing them home Education Module has been developed in response to this request. The module is intended to help students gain a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the issues surrounding the forcible removal of Indigenous people from their families.
