Child and Maternal Health Promotion Forum
19 April 2007, Sydney, NSW

The Collaborative Centre for Aboriginal Health Promotion (CCAHP) hosted the Child and Maternal Health Promotion Forum. The aims of the forum were to:

  • promote existing child and maternal health interventions, evidence and health promotion programs specific to Aboriginal communities;
  • provide people working in Aboriginal health promotion with the opportunity to network and collaborate; and
  • develop a strategic approach to child and maternal health promotion for Aboriginal communities in New South Wales.

Presentations included:

A fact sheet, containing background information about child and maternal health promotion was developed for the forum participants.

Enhancing Indigenous Capacity: Building a Sustainable Future: a national symposium on workforce development in Indigenous maternal and child health
8 - 9 May 2007, Perth, Western Australia

The national symposium Enhancing Indigenous Capacity: Building a Sustainable Future was hosted and supported by the Rio Tinto Child Health Partnership and sponsored by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing. The symposium examined issues central to the development of the maternal and child health workforce in Indigenous communities.
