47th Annual Scientific Convention
30 September - 3 October 2004, Melbourne, Victoria

The theme of the 47th Annual Scientific Convention was 'celebrating Diversity in General Practice'. A number of sessions and events at the Annual Scientific Convention addressed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health. Abstracts are available from the RACGP website.

AIATSIS Conference 2004: Sharing the Cultural and Theoretical Space
22 - 25 November 2004, Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

This conference, organised by the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS), focused on issues in Indigenous studies. The AIATSIS Council adopted the theme of Indigenous studies: sharing the cultural and theoretical space. The aim was to encourage and provide for discussion of intercultural approaches to research and related matters.

The conference was structured around 12 sessions (see below). The conference program and abstracts of the papers are available on the AIATSIS website.

National Services for Australian Rural and Remote Allied Health Conference
26 - 28 August 2004, Alice Springs, Northern Territory

At this conference new and innovative models of allied health service delivery and future directions were presented and discussed. Participants included allied health professionals working in rural and remote areas, managers of health services, and consumers interested in the dynamic developments in allied health services.
